HIGHER LANE PRIMARY SCHOOL

Higher Lane Primary School is a very popular and

over-subscribed school located in Whitefield. It

is a designated two form entry school for children

aged four to eleven years old and admits a

maximum of sixty-six children in each year in

accordance with Bury Local Authority admissions

policy. At the age of eleven children move to

secondary education, most transferring to Philips

High School.

Our school is set in spacious grounds. It is an extremely

well-resourced school with two large halls/dining rooms.

Other purpose built amenities include two well-stocked

computerised libraries and an ICT suite. The school is also

equipped with a fully networked, wireless infrastructure

with laptops throughout the school. All classrooms have

interactive whiteboards to support teaching and learning.

There are several additional rooms where small group

focused teaching takes place.

The school grounds are fenced and attractively

landscaped, including large grassed areas with mature

trees. The extensive playing fields contain pitches for

football, rounders, cricket and athletics. There are two

hard playing areas with extensive and varied yard

markings, enabling the playing of netball, football and

small games for children of all ages. There is an additional

area, containing seating, designed for quiet relaxation.
