HENLEAZE GARDEN SHOP

The first winter was bad, you must have seen old films showing snow 10 foot tall, it did happen. I have been told stories of how my father Ernest (or John) Stenner would sit infront of a coal fire with the shop cat on his knee with nothing to sell and no customers to sell too.Times change however and over the next few years he married Vera and they moved from the original 'Married Quarters', above the shop to a new house.

The 1960's and 1970's brought to expansion of the business with the move into the business premesis next door, a former sweet shop, little changed within the shop except for the use of candles for light during the miners strike and decimalisation.

In the early 1980's Robert joined the business followed by his wife Jane. We still aim to follow the traditional approach in providing good service, professional advice and products which 'do the job'.

Here i am going to show you what we sell in the Henleaze Garden Shop and i hope give you a clue as to why you should come to us to purchase.

In the greenhouse we have houseplants (they come into the shop in winter). We try to rotate stock by offering a 'buy 1 get 1 half price' deal.

Looking up the yard at the side of the shop you will find our Perennial plants. Summer is a great time to buy with a good selection of garden colour being replaced by soft fruit and roses in Autumn, christmas trees and winter shrubs from Novemmber and then Annual plants in the late spring.

Where do you go to satisfy that most British desire-- feeding wild birds? Here of course! Throughout the year we supply seed, nuts, sunflower hearts and a range of more specialised bird foods for Robins, Blue Tits etc.

We also stock over 20 different types of Bird Feeder to satisfy the most particular of birds and there admirers.

In the Autumn and spring we sell a wide range of Bird Houses and Tables (Hint: get your bird Houses up early enough, don't wait for the bird s to appear).
