Self Catering and Camping in the Lake District. We have 2 self catering cottages, a studio apartment, and a campsite, all in the idyllic village of Thornthwaite. Thornthwaite is a small village situated in the north western area of the Lake District National Park, beneath Whinlatter Forest, and midway between Bassenthwaite Lake and Derwentwater.

Thornthwaite is just 3 miles from the busy market town of Keswick. It is an excellent base for touring the Northern Lake District.

The well known fells of Catbells, Grizedale Pike, Great Gable, and Skiddaw are all easily accessible.

Detailed description:

Self Catering in the Lake District. Bleaberry Lodge is a detached cottage with stunning Views of Skiddaw, Latrigg, and the Helvellyn range. The cottage has been comfortably furnished, and is a real 'home from home'. Bleaberry Lodge has gas-fired central heating throughout. The cottage has a dining kitchen with a gas fuelled AGA. There are fell and garden views from the windows. There is a Belfast sink with wooden work tops, and a fully integrated dishwasher. There is a large fridge, and a separate freezer, a microwave, a toaster and a radio. Comb Beck is a cosy Lakeland cottage, in a truly tranquil setting.

Nestled into the lower slopes of Whinlatter Forest, it is situated in the 'Seldom Seen' ravine, on a single track no-through road. The cottage has been tastefully renovated and refurbished. Comb Beck has gas-fired central heating throughout. The living room has a woodburning stove set into the original sandstone alcove. There are 2 two seater sofas, coffee tables, and a television with DVD/CD player. The bookcase contains reading material related to the local area, and the cupboard has a selection of games, including Scrabble. The living room has windows at either end. Lanefoot Loft is a Studio Apartment, attached to Lanefoot Farm House.

It has it's own 'front door, which opens into a lobby with coat hooks, and a coir matting floor with space for shoes and boots. There is a carpeted staircase up to the accommodation. Lanefoot Loft has a kitchen with an area of slate tiled floor. There is a Belfast sink and laminate worktop. There is a microwave with an integrated oven and grill. There is also a small fridge, a toaster, a kettle and a radio. Lanefoot Farm Campsite is a peaceful site in a picturesque setting, between Bassenthwaite Lake and Derwentwater, with panoramic views of the surrounding fells. The Shepherds' Hut is situated in it's own area of the campsite, with views towards Skiddaw and Barrow.
