We are a family-run business offering a wide range of self-catering holiday accommodation - cottages, apartments and houses, some old, some modern and something for every taste, but all within central Lakeland and therefore in the heart of one of Britain's loveliest corners. All our cottages offer a comfortable base for exploration and relaxation and are all within the National Park, including Ambleside, Grasmere, Keswick, Patterdale, the Langdale Valley, Bowness-on-Windermere, Coniston and Hawkshead.

    Just returned from a fabulous holiday in the Lakes - the company are extremely professional and haven't a clue what the previous comments are talking about, we have used the company for over 20 years and yes things do go wrong, but if you report the issue when you find it, the company will deal with it. We have recommended the company to all our friends and family and they love the properties. We stayed recently at Amber Cottage which was just lovely. We spy on their website a new lodge - looks we have found another great place to stay. A big thank you to Heart of the Lakes for making our holidays some memorable.

    • Buffy: Please don't be put off by one bad experience. We have experience similar problems with a few properties and letting agents. However, for the past six years we have stayed at a number of cottages in Ambleside, Windermere, Elterwater and Grasmere, which were all let and managed by Lakelovers. Suggest for yoru next visit to the Lake District you take a look on www.lakelovers.co.uk as they also have many more quality properties than Heart of the Lakes. Lakelovers properties are also fully inspected by VisitBritain unlike Heart of the Lakes who do not have their properties inspected by an independent authority! Hope you find the above helpful.

Don't be put off by your obvious bad experience and suggets you take a look at .... who are the best letting agents in the Lake District. They are totaly dedicated to letting and managing property in the Lake District and my family have stayed with then many times over the past six years, after experiencing similar problems as yourself.
    • Hunter: Isn't funny how people view different companies, I have used Heart of the Lakes for over 15 years, we have found them to be professional, friendly and above all offering good quality accommodation, I have recommended them to several friends and relatives and they inturn have like the company
