Short profile:
We believe that children should enjoy their time at Primary School and we aim to provide a happy and caring environment where children are valued for themselves and where their efforts and talents are appreciated and extended. They need to develop an enquiring mind and an awareness of moral values encouraging self-respect, self-discipline and self-motivation.
Within the classroom we aim to ensure the mastery of basic skills which provide the foundation for learning and later to develop those skills to realise your child’s full potential. High academic and behavioural standards are set, with children expected to produce their best work at all times, being aware of what they are doing and why they are doing it.
The early school years see the development of permanent attitudes and values, and we consider that the school has an important part to play in spiritual, moral and social development.
Detailed description:
We recognise that it is our duty to ensure that your child leaves this school with an academic level of attainment matched to his or her intellectual capacity. We hope they will have gained in confidence and have developed a positive attitude to school life.
Hayes Primary is a centre of educational excellence with proven high standards of teaching, learning and behaviour where children and staff are valued and their efforts are respected and celebrated.
Planned in accordance with the National Curriculum we provide a meaningful, broad based curriculum that recognises the importance of knowledge and experience and ensures that all our pupils leave having had the opportunity to develop a positive, balanced and responsible attitude towards themselves and others.
We provide a broad cross-curricular approach to the core and foundation subjects in the early stages, with some specialisation in later years. We are aware of the special place that Religious Education plays in our school. All pupils have the opportunity to learn both French and Spanish in alternating years from Reception to Year 6 in addition to the statutory subjects.
