The school recognises that starting school is an important time in a child’s life and we aim to ensure that it lays the foundation for a committed and fulfilling school life.
We believe in delivering a broad and balanced curriculum in a happy, stimulating and secure environment. In order for each child to achieve his or her potential, we feel it extremely important that we work in conjunction with our parents. We value each child as an individual and recognise that all children have different needs.
In accordance with the provisions of the Education Reform Act 1988, Hawkedale School offers a curriculum that is balanced and broadly based. All children whatever their ability, race and gender have full access to the National Curriculum which caters fully for their physical, emotional and intellectual development.
Some extra-curricula activities such as French, Football, Art & Craft, Golf and Short Tennis are offered. These can vary from year to year so please confirm with the school office which clubs will be available for each term.
It is the aim of the governing body, Head teacher and staff to provide the best possible service to parents and pupils. Should you feel that an aspect of the education service is not working as you would expect, there is a specific complaints procedure. Details of this are available from the school office.
