Havering Mind is an independent registered charity affiliated to National Mind (National Association for Mental Health). It is one of more than 200 local Associations throughout the United Kingdom. We offer a range of services and provide mental health information for anyone living in the Havering area.

Related Links Getting in touch Latest News About Havering Mind Havering Mind was established in 1965 by a group of volunteers to provide some support for local mental health service users. It was entirely volunteer run until 1995 and now employs over 20 full and part-time employees and 63 volunteers who deliver a variety of services. Our staff hold level 2 or level 3 qualifications in Community Mental Health. Havering Mind is user-led - our management committee has user/carer/ex-user representation with advisors from health and social services etc. Our organisation was re-awarded Investors in People Award in November 2010. Investors in people accredited Havering Mind sits on the major local mental health planning groups: Mental Health Partnership Board Children and Adolescent Mental Health Strategy Older person's strategy Carers' strategy Local advocacy group Mission statement Our Purpose Our vision is of a society that promotes and protects good mental health for all, and that treats people with experience of mental distress fairly, positively, and with respect.
The needs and experiences of people with mental distress drive our work and we make sure their voice is heard by those who influence change. Our independence gives us the freedom to stand up and speak out on the real issues that affect daily lives. We provide information and support, campaign to improve policy and attitudes and, in partnership with independent local Mind associations, develop local services. We do all this to make it possible for people who experience mental distress to live full lives, and play their full part in society.
