304 Stainless Steel has historically been the material of choice for designers for whom durability is a consideration, offering exceptional corrosion resistance, with no reliance on a surface coating. But the price of 304 is expensive and volatile - due to its alloy content.
LDX 2101® is a new duplex stainless steel, offering better corrosion resistance and 2.3x the strength of 304 at a similar cost/tonne. Its Duplex structure gives the superior properties without the requirement for price volatile alloying elements, so its price is stable and predicable!
