Handsworth Medical Practice in Sheffield serves the S13 district, which includes Handsworth, Woodhouse, Richmond, Stradbroke and a section of Darnall that is Sheffield 9. Our team includes five doctors, a practice manager, two nurses, two healthcare assistants, a reception supervisor and our reception and administrative staff. Handsworth Medical Practice is now a Training Practice were qualified junior doctors can finish their Training, these are known as GP Registrars.
Detailed description:
We offer a full general practice service and run numerous clinics for the management of chronic diseases such as asthma and diabetes as well as offering a wide variety of other medical services including antenatal and postnatal care, minor surgery, childhood vaccinations and well-person check-ups. In order to maintain confidentiality, laboratory test results will only be given to the patients themselves or to the parents of minors. Please telephone the surgery for your results between 11.00 am and 12 noon, or 3.00pm to 4 p.m.
The reception staff are not qualified to interpret results and will only tell you what they have been authorised to tell you by the doctor. They will be happy to make an appointment for you to see the doctor/nurse to discuss your results further.
Please note that no blood results will be given over the telephone by reception. The GP or nurse will contact any patients whose blood test results are abnormal within two weeks of the test.
