HAMPSFELL HOUSE HOTEL

Updated one month ago

Short profile:

Hampsfell House was built around 1800 for a Lancashire mill Owner and has had a variety of names during the last 206 years. It's name changed from sandyfield house to Hampsfell House in 1986, but previous to that it was named Handyfield House. Hampsfell became a hotel just after the second world war, and has since become a very popular place to visit by both residential guests and diners alike.

Detailed description:

There are nearly two acres of well stocked gardens, woodlands and fields around the Hotel that you are welcome to explore, and it's just a short five minute walk (or two minute) drive down into town where you will find some of the finest gardens in the local area, along with a whole variety of small shops at your disposal.

Many of our guests visit purely to walk up Hampsfell itself due to the breathtaking views it offers. On a clear day, you can see for miles across Morcambe bay, to Lancaster and Morcambe and the busy port of Heysham. Once on the top of the fell you can rest a while in the Hospice and read the fabulous poems left By Edwardian and Victorian visitors inside the Hospice.
