Short profile:

Here at The Stables a warm welcome awaits all of our guests. The bedrooms are comfortably furnished and well-equipped, en-suite, and with many little extras to make your stay a memorable one. A full Yorkshire Breakfast is included.

Detailed description:

Situated in the private country estate of Halnaby, lying on the border between County Durham and North Yorkshire, The Stables were built in 1911 and formed part of the Milbanke family’s Halnaby Hall Estate. Halnaby Hall was where Lord Byron spent his honeymoon following his marriage to Lady Annabella Milbanke in 1815. While the Hall was sadly demolished in 1953, the other buildings that made up the estate remain, such as The Stables, the Victorian walled gardens, the old servants’ quarters, the gamekeepers’ cottage, various farmsteads and the lodge gatehouses (which you pass through as you enter the estate). The Stables were sympathetically renovated to a very high standard in 2002
