Not sure they should be in the bike repair market. Paid £25 and took bike in for a service. They said a 5 workday turnaround. A week later they finally got to it, said I needed a new gear shift that wasn't in stock but would be over the weekend for a mOnday pickup. Went by Tuesday, no one knew what I was talking about. Gear shift hadn't been delievred, person I spoke to was in a meeting, no one knew anything.
Supposedly calling me tomorrow to let me know what's going on.
Got a broken bike? Go to ***** in Greyfriars.
If this site allowed me to award zero stars I'd do it! Halfords is an "off the peg" store so the crucial difference is made by the staff who work there. In the case of Halfords in Bedford I can truly say that they are nothing short of appalling. The combination of inexperienced junior staff and utterly arrogant management is a fatal one for any business. I had the misfortune to have to join a queue of complainants one Sunday, all of us were treated with contempt by the "manager" who should think before he describes himself as such again. "Mismanager" would be better. Staff who don't know what they are doing and a manager who doesn't remotely understand what customer service is. I'm not saying I won't visit a branch of Halford's again but I certainly won't go near the branch at Rope Walk, Bedford until they change their staff team from the one working there as of July 2010. Hopeless, utterly hopeless!
