At The Hair Band our highly skilled team offer endless technical services, from beautiful classical colour to funky fashion looks. We even have two team members with MCE qualifications, which stands for Master Colour Expert, the equivalent to a degree in colour. We’re always on hand to help with your colour requirements. Our Hair Extension Technicians specialise in, the Racoon system, which is the best on the market. Alternatively, you may bring along your own hair extensions for our specialists to put in for you. Ask your hair designer or our reception for details. We also offer our personalised wig design service – whether your needs are medical or simply for fashion, our extensive range offers a wig for all your needs, if you call in for a consultation we can advise and help you choose your wig and then cut and style whilst on the head so you achieve a completely natural look!

Have you heard about the latest semi-permanent blow-dry? It’s called the “Braziliana” and gives a full blow dried effect. By merely blasting the hair dry it turns uncontrollable dry frizz into a full silky bouncy look. Ask your Hair Designer next time you come and see us. We offer Ionic Straightening which gives even the tightest curly hair a flat silky smooth look. This lasts for months at which point the regrowth area is simply treated again. It's a simple process and takes the hassle out of maintaining perfectly straightened hair. Our first salon, and the humble beginnings of The Hair Band was a smaller salon in Walkley. It wasn’t long before we realised that The Hairband was destined for bigger things. We have many fond memories of those early stages of the business. To much acclaim, we opened our very first fabulous salon on Ecclesall Road in the summer of 1976. Since then we have been in various locations on Ecclesall Rd and for the moment we are settled at 625 Ecclesall Road, close to the Hunter’s Bar Roundabout. The same values that got us started, still motivate us and drive the business today. We have an obsession with service, professionalism and growing our amazing team. In view of this, when the exclusive organisation 365 Day Hairdressing invited us to be founder members, we accepted. That was an incredible 26 years ago! 365 Day Hairdressing simply crystallised and reinforced our total belief in striving to be the best. Over the years we have built a reputation for being just that. We are also firm believers in growing our own team! This way they become a part of the culture that makes The Hairband so unique. Every member of the team has trained with The Hair Band and the longest serving member as been with us for an astonishing 32 years! The youngest team member has been with us 1 year and every year we actively recruit up and coming talented people who have we feel share our passion and enthusiasm for people and excellence.
