We are pleased to be able to offer you a memorials service to complete our service to you at this time. Please speak to our office staff or the Funeral Director and we will be happy to offer you our guidance and advice.
At H Porter & Sons, we work closely with a local stonemason to ensure individual attention to your request and to achieve a high quality memorial with which you are fully satisfied. In many cases it is possible to tailor a memorial exactly to your
requirements. We can also advise you on the type of memorials permitted in certain cemeteries and graveyards and assist with the paperwork relating to this.

Memorial Stones for cremation plots are generally flatter and more compact than those seen on full burial graves. The choice of style and stone though, is just as broad and there are many options. Churchyards may place a restriction on the memorial stone, generally preferring a dark coloured flat tablet, though we can offer you guidance for particular churchyards if this is the case. The municipal cemeteries operated by local councils will generally permit different coloured stones and a range of different styles.
You may find it helpful to visit our offices and look at some of the sample memorials on display. We also have samples of different stone colours which may help you in your decision-making. Please note that colours may vary due to granite being
a natural substance and samples are provided for guidance only. Alternative styles of memorial are also available to those
illustrated.
The size, shape, type of stone and layout of words on a memorial on a burial plot can vary immensely. Most churchyards have strict rules regarding what will be permitted, and we recommend that you ask us for advice on this before you make your selection. Municipal cemeteries are somewhat more flexible and accommodating.
The selection below is a very small part of a large range that we can supply. We have brochures in our office displaying memorials of many varieties, as well as stone samples and some full size memorials on display. We have also had bespoke memorials crafted from customer’s specific drawings.
