Our directly employed workforce averaging some 30 multi disciplined trades with head office support of seven staff, allows us to to deal effectively with minor works and general property maintenance and we feel that a measure of reassurance in respect of workmanship, control and security can be to the mutual benefit of ourselves and our clients. H J Johnston & Sons Ltd are specialist building contractors operating in Penshurst and the surrounding districts. Our skilled workforce undertake professional projects within the building and construction industry. We cater for all areas of domestic and commercial projects including new builds.
Detailed description:
We are continually involved with general contracting works of a varying nature although the majority of projects are in the private sector comprising new builds, refurbishment, alterations, extensions, period property repair / restoration and school projects, up to individual contract values in the region of £1, 500, 000. For many years we have been in the privileged position of receiving a high volume of enquiries for tender and negotiation from an established client base. However, we are keen to forge new relationships with both clients and professional disciplines within and beyond our usual areas of activity.
The business was founded in 1932 on traditional good quality craftsmanship a strength that we still promote and pride ourselves in today and as such we have a great deal of experience within the period property market. However we move with the times and can offer high quality contemporary works also, with the added benefit of our In House Joinery Workshops to cater for our clients bespoke requirements.
Commercial projects are also undertaken and we are pleased to include the Worshipful Company of Skinners including the highly regarded Tonbridge School, the Diocese of Rochester and the National Trust among our clientele. From foundations to furniture and interiors, H J Johnston & Son are able to offer the complete building package.
