Have been going for years, Its clearly the best Indian Restaurant in East London and Essex, the butter naans are to die for.. (it lost it a tad during Dec 2009 but its back on top now) Mr R (Nov 2010).

Hmmm, not sure about the one negative review below. I have eaten there at least 20 times, and the food has always appeared to be freshly cooked. Is it good?....... well I keep going back!

The food and service was excellent. I had gone there with my friends. I thought the offer of £9.99 was great because I felt that I had gotten the most out of my money. I would recommend anyone to go to Gymhkhana.

    • Mr_Sheen_ilford: The standards have really really dropped at this restaurant. i went there recently and they served cold chicken niblets that were blatantly made on the previous day with very hot jeera sauce spreaded over the top to distinguish the taste and temperature. When i complained, they simply 'bunged' it in the microwave and gave it back to me, in the same plate. I told them no way was I eating that so they made me a 'fresh' batch when the bill came they wanted to charge me double for the chicken niblets as they said "I WASTED FOOD" I refused to pay the bill and they called the police on me. They police came and laughed at the whole situation on how petty the restaurant was. In the end I paid 'some' of the bill but the whole eating experience was a shambles, I recommend you go to Tescos opposite and grab a sandwich, at least you know its going to be cold.!! Don't even try this restaurant, its THAT bad and much much worse.!!
