GUILDFORD GROVE PRIMARY SCHOOL

In order to enrich the curriculum still further, we offer a full range of additional activities for pupils. We start the day with our free Breakfast Club, and children can choose from a full menu of lunchtime and after school clubs.  These currently include sewing, football training, dance, choir, games, signing to communicate with the hard of hearing, judo, gardening, chess, and French.

Older children are also offered the opportunity of a residential journey. In the summer term they spend a week in Cornwall when their work is focused on the PSHE and humanities curricula including studying a contrasting geographical environment. They are experience a range of challenging outdoor experiences, including coasteering, hill walking, kayaking, canoeing and abseiling. This trip is very strongly focused on team and trust building.

All our children go on termly trips to support their learning and development. These include visits to galleries and museums, places of worship and farms and local villages. The school has a strong link with RHS Wisley where children visit regularly and benefit for visits of RHS staff to school.

We intend to make trips and outdoor activities a stronger focus for a more creative curriculum
