Short profile:
Groundwork Coventry was formed in 1995 as both a not-for-profit company and registered charity. The Trust is a member of the Federation of Groundwork Trusts and subscribes to Groundwork's vision of a society made up of sustainable communities which are vibrant, healthy and safe; that respect the local and global environment; and where individuals and enterprise prosper.
Detailed description:
The Trust primarily uses the environment as a tool to build confidence and skills, and thereby create sustainable communities. To do so effectively the Trust works closely with local and regional partners and agencies.
Most of the Trust's funding is secured from bid preparation and requires the successful delivery of outputs and outcomes. The Trust has therefore delivered various programmes to time, budget and quality. Funding sources include Single Regeneration Budget, European Regional Development Fund, European Social Fund, National Lottery, landfill tax, private sector, etc.
Groundwork Coventry & Warwickshire in partnership with British Waterways have begun to develop themed interpretation along the Quarryman’s Walk. Thanks to funding from the Aggregate Levy Sustainability Fund.
As part of this work, an Interpretation Plan outlining how the Quarryman's Walk could be further developed was developed by Imagemakers.
