Short profile:
Our older children take part in an annual residential visit and we regard this as an important personal learning experience for them.
Y6 children also participate in a Cycle Training course each year. A good range of sporting opportunities have been available, for example, tag rugby, football, netball, cricket, rounders and fencing. Other clubs on offer have been art/craft, dance, recorders, chess and gardening.
Each year our special enrichment week helps everyone focus on a specific theme. This year it was China and we welcomed outside visitors and children were involved in many activities, including a video link to some ex-pupils in China!
The curriculum has been further enriched by visiting musicians, scientists and plays. The twice yearly productions, and participation in festivals, also enables children to develop their potential within the performing arts.
Pupils in Y2 - Y6 continue to develop their knowledge of French through a weekly lesson involving songs, games and stories.
We regard school trips as integral learning experiences for the children. This year the younger children visited the sea-life centre, Gnomes enjoyed time in a Tudor house and the Giants spent a day as Anglo Saxons at a specially created village.
