Short profile:

Greenside School has been a part of Pudsey life for nearly 150 years. The current building was opened on September 8th 1890 with the children, staff and visitors singing the very appropriate hymn, Awake My Soul.

Detailed description:

Our pupils are delighted with the range of activities the school provides during the day and after school. These include: drama, music, playing instruments, choir, performances, football, rugby, cricket, rounders, athletics, gymnastics, swimming (including an annual gala), netball, tennis, multi-skills, dance, art, science club, ICT, chess, healthy dudes, gardening club, discos and parties, games club, homework club, school council, outdoor and adventurous activities, craft club, dinosaur club, racing readers club, Lego club and even  Dr. Who club.  The pupils enjoyed raising funds for their school during a Sponsored Healthy Sport Challenge. School visits include local visits to extend learning such as a day at Cannon Hall farm or a full week residential in the Dales. Our pupils particularly enjoy our theme weeks and focus days which involve a range of activities and visitors, the most recent being a Scarecrow week in which every class designed, made and wrote about their Scarecrow. As an Inclusive School we endeavour for all of our pupils to be able to partake of activities both in and out of school hours. There is a before and after school Care Club on site which many of the children attend.
