Detailed description:
Pupils have access to a rich, broad curriculum that provides them with hands on experiences consolidated through structured systematic practice driven through detailed and comprehensive policies and schemes of work in all subjects. All pupils participate in all curriculum areas. We plan a residential visit for pupils in year 4-6, an outdoor day at South Cerney Education Centre, regular visits out and about to support topic work for all pupils, swimming. Clubs to accommodate interests in sport, music, art, cooking, sewing and gardening take place throughout the year.
Our annual Focus Week enables pupils to participate in experiences linked to a theme. We have visiting professionals to work with the children. In June 2008 it was Near and Far Week.
This week links key themes that have been explored throughout the year. Many professionals came into school to enable pupils to develop their talents and skills in art, music, dance and many other areas of the curriculum.Pupils participate in sports matches with other schools and we benefit from the expertise of sports professionals through our Primary PE Partnership. La Jollie Ronde french is available for pupils as is music tuition
