Granite Transformations was founded in 1996 by two ordinary guys in Perth, Australia. Bob Smith was renovating his kitchen and liked the idea of installing granite worktops, but found the material too expensive and high maintenance. A friend of his, Colin McKenzie, introduced him to some granite-like floor tiles imported from Italy that offered a really high quality finish and looked like the real thing The two realised the material would be an ideal alternative surface for kitchen worktops that would not only bring granite within most people’s reach, but also open a whole world of possibilities and revolutionise kitchen refurbishment
