The Grand Central Hotel Glasgow is due to open in September 2010 after a recent Principal Hayley takeover and subsequent overhaul. The group is set to spend millions of pounds on the central Glasgow venue over the coming months and hopes to be ready for the grand unveiling come the beginning of 2010. Detailed description:
The Grand Central Hotel Glasgow, formerly the Quality Hotel Glasgow, was made famous in 1927 when John Logie Baird transmitted the world’s first long-distance television pictures from there. When it re-opens it will take on the new name but between now and then it will remain closed. An extra 30 bedrooms will be created at the Grand Central, bringing the total number to 186.
