Short profile:

Pupils at Gomeldon Primary School receive a broad and balanced curriculum. In addition to a wide range of class based activities, all pupils are taught music by a specialist teacher. Some groups receive support from PE specialists from St Edmund's Secondary school and Class 5 are taught French by a language teacher from Bishop Wordsworth's Grammar School. Five peripatetic teachers deliver tuition to pupils for keyboard, woodwind, violin, brass and guitar. In addition all pupils in Class 3 are learning to play the violin  and there are clubs for recorders and choir.

Pupils have access to a wide range of after school clubs including Spanish, judo, football, netball, tag rugby, art, athletics, ICT  and gardening. Pupils in  Years 3 - 6  have opportunities to take part in residential visits and pupils throughout the school visit off site venues to support curriculum work.

A wide variety of visitors to school (clergy, police, multicultural) support teaching and learning. Parents work alongside teachers in classrooms and help run after school clubs.
