Glenfield Hospital is about three miles north west of Leicester city centre. The hospital has around 520 beds and provides a range services for patients, including nationally recognised medical care for heart disease, lung cancer and breast care.
There is one main pharmacy (chemist) at Glenfield Hospital between the main entrance to the hospital and the restaurant.

Cardiac surgery at Glenfield Hospital is rated among the very best in the country by the Society of Cardiothoracic Surgeons (SCS). The SCS place Glenfield top of the 37 hospitals listed, with a 98.9 per cent survival rate for heart by-pass operations. In a separate table for heart valve operations, Glenfield came third with a 98.5 per cent survival rate.
The specialist centre at Glenfield Hospital for lung cancer also now boasts the best lung cancer survival rates in the country with new figures showing the rates are double the national average and on a par with European standards.
Specialist Dr Mick Peake is currently the national clinical lead for lung cancer and the centre has developed an innovative nurse-led haemoptysis clinic - the first of its kind. An extremely active research programmes means 30 per cent of patients are now entered on clinical trials and surgery rates are among the highest in the UK.
Glenfield Hospital is also home to the purpose-built Breast Care Centre where a team of specialists help women through diagnosis, treatment and surgery following a diagnosis of cancer and work alongside the UHL plastic surgery team which boasts significant expertise in breast reconstruction.
