These can come in many different forms including tablet, powder and liquid. Long term abuse can lead to serious physical health problems like vomiting and internal bleeding as well as mental problems leading to memory loss and in some cases mood and personality changes.
Regardless of age, maturity or levels of physical fitness, these substances can have a devastating affect on the user, and have in the past led to fatalities.
If you feel under pressure by your peers to start taking illegal drugs, you can talk to a parent or teacher. We have included links to a number of organisations you could contact for information and advice on how to avoid getting involved in drugs, and what to do if you want to stop taking them.
