Short profile:
Gillas Lane Primary develops a broad, relevant and engaging curriculum. It is planned with the view that children learn best when they can make connections in their learning and when they see purpose in what they are doing. Throughout school we develop thematic approaches and learning is enhanced by going on educational visits and having visitors into school.
We offer a range of extra curricular clubs and activities which take place before and after school. Clubs on offer include Football, Games, Brass Tuition, Choir, Origami, Dance and Crafts. Years 5 and 6 children have an annual residential visit to Derwent Hill, an outdoor centre, where children partake in activities such as canoeing and climbing.
