The Hotel is surrounded by beautiful countryside including the Peak District. Holmfirth, the picturesque village made famous in 'The Last of the Summer Wine' and Haworth Parsonage, home of the literary Bronte family are just some of the nearby visitor attractions.

The George Hotel was built in the Victorian period around 1851 and is an elegant Grade II listed building. It has a friendly atmosphere and is popular as a meeting place with local people or to admire memorabilia from its Rugby League connection.

There are 60 ensuite bedrooms and the public areas include a comfrotable, traditional lounge and bar and a restaurant which has recently undergone refurbishment. The bedrooms are well equipped and offer facilities to make you feel at home.

The George hotel is situated right next door to the train station and is only 25 miles away from Leeds/Bradford airport and 40 miles from Manchester Airport - ideal for business travellers.

Home of Rugby League and has its very own Rugby League Heritage Centre with memorabilia from all over the world and the director is non other that Mike 'Stevo@ Stephenson, the ex England Rugby player.
