Short profile:
Geomatics Engineers utilise a wide range of technologically advanced tools such as digital theodolite/distance meter total stations, Global Positioning System (GPS) equipment, digital aerial imagery (both satellite and air-borne), and computer-based geographic information systems (GIS). These tools enable the Geomatics Engineer to gather, analyse, and manage spatially related information to solve a wide range of technical and societal problems.
Detailed description:
Geomatic Engineering Ltd is a professional and dynamic, forward thinking Land Surveying company specialising in Virtual Reality. Our job is to collect, manage, analyse and present spatial information to suit a client's needs.
Since establishing in 2004, we have developed and delivered a wide variety of Measured Building Surveys and Virtual Reality presentations, all with professional conduct, and satisfied clients.
Looking forward to 2008 we are concentrating on our latest Immersed Virtual Reality technology, which we will actively market over the next few months.
Geomatic Engineering Ltd recognises virtual reality as premium resource in the Geomatics portfolio of presentation media. Clients can immerse themselves into a dataset, adapt and change it to suit a specific design or scenario. Virtual Reality can take many forms and can be presented using computers; the Internet, goggles or purpose built immersive environments.
Geomatic Engineering Ltd has developed an on-line visualisation suite for planning applications. With small file sizes and no software license implications, GEL can transform standard 2D elevations into 3D Virtual Reality for consultation between major stakeholders on the Internet.
Geomatic Engineering Ltd's IVEST application uses Mixed Reality to create and amalgamate real and virtually real environments. IVEST immerses humans and real objects in virtual worlds, exactly replicating physical attributes and convincing the mind of reality. On entering an IVEST enclosure, the trainee’s body and limb locations are tracked and mapped to a Virtual Environment platform and displayed through a head-mounted display. Multiple trainees are networked for team scenarios. Real environment objects and simulated weather conditions, located in the IVEST enclosure, allow a trainee to walk up and down stairs; operate and move large and small equipment.
