Garratt Park School has 160 students with a range of difficulties, including moderate learning difficulties, autistic spectrum conditions, and speech, language and communication difficulties
Detailed description:
We have lunchtime clubs for ICT, arts and crafts, games, karaoke, lego, music, table tennis, table football, football and basketball. The library is open at break times.
We have after-school trampoline, basketball and football clubs, and table tennis coaching.
We have recently established an after-school hand and nail care club.
We have a comprehensive range of sporting activities, including competition with other special schools across London.
Staff are available for support and supervision at break and lunchtimes.
The School Council meets half termly.
We run residential experiences for the Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme, and the majority of students undertake an assessed expedition.
Work experience takes place in Years 11, 12 and 13.
Some students have been on one-or two day work or college placements throughout the year.
There is an activities day at the end of the Summer Term
There are opportunities for outside visits / community links through the curriculum.
Holiday clubs are available to all students.
