G.R.S GARAGE SERVICES

GRS - Gloucester Road Service Station, was as the name suggests, orignally located in Gloucester Road in Boscombe, Bournemouth. GRS were primarily a Recovery and Breakdown company which has grown to encompass a whole range of other services. The whole company as it grew, moved in search of a larger site to Jameson Road in Winton, Bournemouth. The company quickly expanded with the addition of a police contract and outgrew these premises. It was at this point it was decided an additional set of premises was needed and the Recovery Breakdown division of GRS moved to a large, 1 acre site in West Howe, leaving GRS Garage Services to occupy Jameson Road. GRS Garage Services is now loacted within the premises in Jameson Road, Winton, Bournemouth.

We have recruited experienced professionals who have years of experience and have grown to become a leading independant garage in the Winton and Bournemouth area. GRS Garage now offer a vareity of services which have grown to include car & van hire. If your vehicle is 3 years or older you are required by law to have an annual safety check, the ministry of transport test, commonly known as the MoT Test. The purpose of the MoT test is to ensure the vehicle meets the minimum safety level required by law. During the MoT test the nominated tester, a person authorised by the government body called VOSA (Vehicle and Operator Services Agency) will conduct an inspection and a comprehensive series of checks around the vehicle, including the interior, exterior, under the bonnet and under the vehicle.

The result of each check is recorded- if the vehicle passes a VT40 ‘pass' certificate is issued. If the vehicle does not meet the required standard a VT30 document is issued. Items that are not quite a failure, but worthy of a mention to you so you can keep an eye on them are drawn to your attention as ‘advisory' items. The test takes around 45 minutes and can be carried out While you wait.
