Fryent Primary School is a vibrant school, where all children work hard to achieve their greatest potential. We are located on Church Lane, Kingsbury in the Borough of Brent. We have a large, grassy playing field, a Multi-Use Games Area and playground space. The school is expanding from 2 to 4 forms of entry.
This expansion will be complete by September 2018. There are approx 532 pupils currently on roll including 52 children (part time) in the nursery. The school has one hall used for sport, assemblies, lunch time and after school clubs and special events.
We have recently updated our ICT facilities, enabling Fryent's staff and pupils to have fast and reliable access to the Internet with a range of computers, laptops, netbooks and ipads. All classrooms have Interactive Whiteboards which are used to support and enrich all areas of the curriculum.
We have many clubs throughout the year. In 2008/9 the clubs included year 6 boys football, girls football, mixed netball, Queen's Park football for years 2, 3 and 4, the Maxine Dance club, Choi Kwan Doh for all ages, rollerblading for Key Stage 1, a gymnastics club for all ages and a hockey club for mini games.
We have had coaches from the local police team to teach rugby. We've had cycle training, coaching for cricket and FA football coaching in year 4. Our year 5 pupils have collaborated with our local Special School with Sports College status.
In 2008/9 we continued our instrumental tuition with recorders (free at the point of delivery) across year 3 and keyboard across Key Stage 2. In 2008/9, working with Brent Music Service, we are expanding the recorder tutuion to include all year 3 & 4 children and providing drumming to all year 5 children (free at the point of delivery).
We have a range of focussed events including Black History Month, Travellers and Refugee Month, Theatre Workshops, Bike-ability; Enterprise Week, Geography Week; Kingsbury High Sporting Challenge and a wide range of visits and trips.
