FRIENDS OF LETHERINGSETT MILL

Updated more than 6 months ago

Short profile:

We are a small, non-profit making group of people - young and not so young - with a common interest, an interest in all types of Norfolk Mills.

We aim to promote an interest in and encourage the preservation and enhancement of Letheringsett Watermill the last working water powered mill in the county of Norfolk.

We maintain close links with the Norfolk Windmills Trust based at County Hall in Norwich.

Detailed description:

WHAT DO WE DO?

A Varied Program of Talks, visits and social events for members of Friends of Letheringsett Mill, their families and friends is being arranged by our hard working committee.

¿ Fund Raising. We promote and support Letheringsett projects through active publicity and fund raising. Events, such as cheese and wine evenings are held at intervals to raise funds for specific mill development or repair projects.

¿ A Friends of Letheringsett Mill Newsletter will be produced on a regular basis packed full of news and information on the mill and other local mill related news. We actively encourage members to submit any mill related articles and photographs for publication in the newsletter. This is an excellent opportunity to share experiences with fellow molinologists!

The newsletter is distributed free of charge to all members.

¿ Norfolk Mill Records Project - the preservation of Mill Related Records is taken seriously by the group. We aim to actively collect, digitally record (and return) photos, slides, documents etc preserved for future generations to enjoy. We are particularly looking for Norfolk mill related material from members or non-members that may be laying forgotten in drawers and attics etc.
