Short profile:
Foundation is a charity working with the kind of people that society sometimes ignores: offenders, the homeless, women who are victims of domestic abuse and young people at risk. Whether its support to manage a tenancy, find a job, tackle drug addiction or improve family relationships, we help individuals overcome all kinds of challenges so they can realise their potential and become a part of their community.
We're good at what we do. Working with a host of agencies and organisations, we have a reputation for transforming troubled lives and for the enthusiasm, commitment and quality of service which have made us the largest organisation in Yorkshire and Humberside providing essential services to socially excluded groups.
Detailed description:
We provide housing support services to adult offenders across all the areas in which we work. We provide a number of specialist services to meet the needs of offenders subject to Multi Agency Public Protection Arrangements, Mentally Disordered Offenders, offenders subject to drug or alcohol rehabilitation requirements, Prolific & other Priority Offenders, offenders subject to Integrated Offender Management and male perpetrators of domestic violence. In all these services we work closely with Probation and other criminal justice sector partners to maximise outcomes for customers and for the wider community. We also offer housing advice services for offenders subject to Probation supervision.
We provide a range of services aimed at preventing homelessness, particularly amongst young people. Our "time out" schemes provide temporary accommodation for a 2 week period to allow family mediation to take place with the aim of negotiating a return home. We also offer other mediation services aimed at resolving disputes that could lead to homelessness. Where a return home is not possible we enable young people to find suitable accommodation with support. We also work with school and college students to ensure that they understand the reality of living on their own and the reality of homelessness.
We also work with homeless families providing support to homeless families and to those housed in temporary accommodation.
We provide housing support services that work with customers with drug and/or alcohol problems aimed at ensuring that customers can retain or access tenancies. We also have a service in Bradford which is aimed at ensuring that our customers engage effectively with treatment services locally.
