Forum Design Consultants was founded in 2003. Since then we have established a sound reputation for contextual modern design and successful planning negotiations working within sensitive environments and conservation areas.
We work mainly in Dorset, Somerset and Devon operating from our office in Dorchester.
Our client base is rapidly developing and includes private developers, commercial enterprises, local authorities, housing associations and private individuals. A number of our clients also come through personal recommendation.
We insist on quality solutions and fulfilling client aspirations.
Forum Design Consultants is a Royal Institute of British Architect's Chartered Practice.
Forum Design Consultants respond to the special circumstances of brief and location which every project brings. We work with our clients to ensure that the design responds to the context of the building, the site and the locale.

Forum Design Consultants believe that the most successful designs come from an extensive and continuous dialogue with our clients and, where relevant, their end user. Only by understanding our client's needs can we exceed expectations.
FDC acknowledge their responsibility to the environment through good design and planning. Our approach is to provide sustainable building solutions that reflect a responsible attitude to the use of the world's limited resources. By applying a sensitive understanding of the local surroundings, we utilise the best ecological and environmental practice from initial planning stages through to project completion.
In addition FDC exploits modern technologies which are environmentally friendly, including the use of electronic communications and shared project workspaces where ever possible as an alternative to travel and paper based communication.
Although we retain and encourage freehand sketching we use a computer aided design system allowing us to collaborate with other organisations and integrate with systems as and when required. In addition we use the National Building Specification and the Green Building Specification system supported by a reqularly updated product and technical library.
