Short profile:

Forte Theatre was recently commissioned by USA based Global Law Brigades to devise and deliver a series of Conflict Resolution workshops for the indigenous communities of Panama, Central America. A Forte Theatre workshop leader travelled to the other side of the pond as part of an ongoing program to help the communities with: Conflict, Communication skills, Active listening, Conflict de-escalation, Analysis, Creativity, and Collaboration.

Forte Theatre was founded in 2004 by Danielle Scott and Miriam Irwin. They began as a performance based company and grotesque physical theatre was their stimulation and niche. On discovering that schools and colleges desired new and alternative learning methods and techniques, they embarked upon their journey of introducing unique workshop experiences to Theatre in Education and began their growth and establishment within the secondary school, college and university sectors.

Detailed description:

This summer term we are bringing to you an exciting new range of workshops focusing on the lively acting technique of Stage Combat. With a background in film, television and stage, our trained combatants can facilitate two different diciplines with your students; Stage Combat Un-Armed and Stage Combat Armed. These two workshops are suitable for a wide range of ages and group sizes.

The Bouffon technique being Forte Theatre’s initial workshop kick started their reputation throughout the South of England. Bespoke workshops and Commedia Dell’Arte shortly followed and in 2008, Mask was added to Forte Theatre’s repertoire of unconventional workshops.
