Short profile:
Children can take part in different performing arts, music, drama and dance. Music lessons are offered in violin, viola, 'cello, guitar, steel pans, drums and piano. There is also a school choir.
There are performances opportunities at the end of each term as well as school music mornings and dance performances locally.
In sports a range of opportunities are given in football, TAG rugby, Kwik Cricket, Tri-Golf, basketball, swimming, gymnastics and multi-skills at various times in the year.
Other extra curricular clubs currently running are reading, ICT, art and craft, cookery, gardening, and EMAS (care for the environment).
Residential visits are offered to children in Years 2, 4 and 6. These have been visits to local centres such as Beaumanor Hall and Quorn Hall, and also to London. Through these visits children have taken part in Victorian Christmas activities, outdoor and adventurous activities (canoeing, team challenges, archery, orienteering, ) and the opportunity to see a West End theatre show, visit London museums and go sightseeing.
Our International Curriculum encourages teachers to plan for many interesting first hand experiences including visits to local places of interest
