Detailed description:
Flockton CE (C) First School is a co-educational Church of England Controlled First School which the children attend on a daily basis. The school enjoys a close relationship with the church of St James The Great and its vicar.
We are a small village school catering for children from the ages of rising 5 to 10 years of age. Most of our children transfer at 10 to Scissett Middle School with which we have strong links. We spend considerable time and effort on liaison work in order to ensure that the transition to a new school causes the least possible disruption to each child and their progress. On leaving Scissett Middle School the majority of children transfer at 13 to Shelley College - A Specialist Centre for Science.
Kirklees Children and Young People Service currently operate a Single Point of Entry for Rising Fives. All children born between 1 September 2005 and 31 August 2006 may begin full-time school in September 2010. Parents may defer their child’s entry to full-time school if they wish.
