Family Planning / Well Woman Clinic / Cervical Smears: Advice regarding contraception and other well woman issues usually require an initial appointment with a GP. Routine Pill checks and cervical smears appointments are available with our nursing team. Holiday Vaccinations: If you require vaccinations for a forthcoming trip abroad please contact the nursing team at least 8 weeks before you are due to travel. The nurse will advise you of the vaccinations you require and will make you a suitable appointment to attend surgery to administer the injections and provide travel advice.

Health Screening: Patients in at risk groups can make, and will regularly be offered, a blood pressure check or blood test with a health care assistant. If you feel you require such checks but have not yet been identified as potentially at risk please make an appointment with a GP to discuss it. Smoking Cessation advice is only available in Practice for patients with Chronic Disease such as Ischaemic Heart Disease, Asthma, Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease and Diabetes.

If you suffer from one of these conditions and would like to stop smoking please contact Reception and ask for an appointment with a smoking cessation nurse. Our Practice Nurses also carry out many other procedures in surgery including, removal of stitches, dressings, ear syringes and immunisations. Please contact reception if you feel you need to see a nurse and our staff will assist in making an appropriate appointment.
