Short profile:

The Fareham and Gosport Open Duke of Edingburgh Centre is for anyone between the age of 14 and 25 would like to complete their Bronze, Silver or Gold Award/s. The DofE Centre is run by Matt, Debbie and Tony, who are volunteers, all of whom wish to share their skills, enthusiasm and organising abilities to help young people reach their potential.

Detailed description:

We are lucky enough to three leaders, all of which are keen hill walkers. They have all completed their Hampshire County Council DofE courses allowing them to train and supervise DofE expeditions. Matt and Tony also hold their Mountain Leader Awards, so, between our experienced leaders they are able to train and assess Bronze, Silver and Gold expeditions. Most weeks we meet at The Xperience Centre, Trinity Street, Fareham.

The centre has excellent facilities including lots of space, a computer room and 'industrial' kitchen. You can use our weekly meetings to work on a Skill for your award. We have had a Silver group cooking each week for their Skill and curently have two of our members working on this website for their Skill.

The Fareham and Gosport Open Centre opened it's doors in January 2011.
