Family Copies produces recreations of paintings for private clients worldwide. We are based just outside London in the UK and can produce a re-creation of nearly any painting you wish. We negotiate the copyright fees. Our re-creations are the image printed directly to canvas, which is then hand finished with varnish brushstrokes to look like the original. We are so confident of our product that we claim that you will not be able to tell the difference between the copy and the original except from a few inches away.

Family Copies has been re-creating paintings since 1984. Derek Bird, founder of Family Copies, transformed the process of re-creating paintings 25 years ago. When the rest of the industry were relying on individual painters to copy a painting by hand Family Copies developed and enhanced the photographic process, the Oleograph, invented in Paris in 1900.
Our pictures have always been highly respected in the fine art industry and are known for being the most faithful of re-creations produced today. The bulk of our work is re-creating paintings sold in major auction houses, but also for many private clients all over the world.
We work closely with many of the major museums, art galleries and picture libraries all over the world to produce re-creations of nearly any painting in the world for our clients.
