We offer a broad, balanced and creative curriculum. The curriculum significantly impacts on pupils' enjoyment and achievement. The curriculum is planned to give children positive and enriching experiences ensuring strong foundations are made in basic skills.
Detailed description:
The schools holds the Healthy Schools advanced status award. We have retained the Artsmark Gold due to our provision within the arts. Furthermore in recognition of our effective ICT provision we have retained the ICT mark.
Children are encouraged to engage in physical activities and sports and play equipment is provided for the children to use at break times. We provide a range of After School Clubs: art, football, basketball, gymnastics, ICT, choir, gardening, cooking and science.
We enrich the curriculum with theme weeks where the focus is on either the Arts, Science and Technology, Reading and Healthy Living. To enhance community cohesion this year we held a Gypsy Roma week. These weeks have been highly successful and inspire pupils' enthusiasm and enhance their learning.
Off site activities are used to stimulate learning for all pupils and provide valuable first hand experiences. The use of educational visitors also enhance the curriculum, e.g. artists and sports coaches.
