Short profile:
EWMS are an independent company who specialise in plastic recycling. The company currently operates from an Environment Agency licensed site in Kidderminster. The factory is 80, 000 sq ft plus further warehousing facilities locally for raw material storage.
EWMS offers a complete in-house plastic recycling service, to all types of plastic manufacturers and associated industries. The service we offer starts with the collection of the plastic scrap from customers, using our own fleet of vehicles, supplying bins and cages for the customers to keep the scrap in ready for collection, advising customers on how to achieve the optimum revenue from their plastic scrap. Once the plastic scrap is back at our factory, it is then sorted and graded. The next stage is size reduction, this is done by various processes including shredding, granulating and compounding.
Detailed description:
Once the plastic scrap arrives at our factory and is sorted into type, grade and quality etc we then start the size reduction part of the recycling process. We have the ability to recycle all types of plastics from small plastic yogurt pot's to 3ft diameter plastic pipes. This is due to our range of customised shredders and granulators. Each machine has been adapted to suit different types of plastic scrap. Our smallest granulate has a throat of 24" x 15" which is capable of processing ½ ton of plastic scrap per hour, this is the ideal machine for granulating light plastic mouldings for example plastic cups and ice-cream tubs. Our largest granulator has a throat size of 50" x 24" and has a capacity of processing 1.1/2 tons of plastic scrap per hour; this is great for granulating large solid plastic lumps and large mouldings such as car bumpers. We also have a granulator that is suitable for processing 6 mtr long lengths of plastic profiles.
Once the plastic scrap has been granulated we can then compound the plastic material. The plastic compounding process involves melting the plastic at a controlled temperature, screening out impurities and if required adding master batch to produce a specific colour. By compounding the material it has now become a better, more integral product.
We currently have 3 compound lines which have a capacity in total of producing 5 tons of compound per hour.
We also offer our compounding service to plastic moulders, who have produced plastic regrind of their own and are looking to improve the quality of the material before they reuse it.
We are F.A.C.T. accredited (Federation Against Copyright Theft). This means we have been recognised as providing a service that meets stringent criteria in both security and working practices.
