Short profile:

Nutritional Medicine looks at how the above factors and nutrition interact at the cellular level to bring about good health or health problems. Nutritional Medicine can prevent or treat these health problems by targeting their root causes.

Nutrition is the provision and management of the food nutrients that make up our bodies and give us the energy that drives every process in the living body.

Detailed description:

At this clinic, each client is treated as an individual and we pride ourselves in providing nutritional programmes that are tailored to the specific needs of the client. We can achieve this by taking a detailed case history which is then carefully interpreted and is the basis for designing an effective programme. Information from test results, where necessary, enhances the design of these programmes and allows us to monitor the client’s progress more effectively.

A typical consultation lasts about an hour and is non-invasive, with little or no physical contact. The client remains fully clothed.

In a relaxed atmosphere, the consultant takes a detailed medical case history of the client, and a record of their past and present dietary intake. It is not a question and answer session but is more like a conversation. All the information collected is strictly confidential and kept on record for future reference.

Information on sleeping patterns, toilet habits, social and emotional factors is also recorded. Nutrient deficiency signs and symptoms are also assessed. Most of the nutritional biochemical tests required can be done at our laboratory for which additional fees will be charged.

All supplements recommended by the consultant are of high quality and from natural sources and in a biochemical form that is close to what is found in the body and so are efficiently absorbed and used. Although many people take supplements purchased over the counter or on advice from practitioners trained in fields other than nutrition, their problems are rarely dealt with effectively.
