Detailed description:
By close liaison with the Health and Safety team we can help organisations meet their statutory Health and Safety obligations.
There may be a statutory requirement for health surveillance. We are able to provide audiometry, lung function, keystone eye testing and biological monitoring, We are EMAS appointed to perform Asbestos, Lead and Ionising Radiation medicals.
We undertake medicals for the Maritime Coast Guard Agency (ENG1), Commercial Diving Medicals and LGV Driving Medicals.
Occupational Health plays an important role in assisting managers to achieve low sickness absence rates through: Prompt impartial advice on employee health issues. Liaison with employee’s general practitioner where necessary. Offering consultations at short notice with a response within twenty four hours.
This helps safeguard the employer’s medico legal position and to fully consider a prospective employee’s fitness for a particular post. We can provide our own pro-formas or adapt existing ones.
Initial screening is performed either by an Occupational Health Nurse including assessment where appropriate, or an Occupational Physician.
