Notified Body activities are carried out at both the York and Donibristle offices. Through the link to the Department of Electronics, we have been running industry relevant training courses in EMC for 20 years whilst our contract consultancy and research activities date back to 1983. Examples of the kind of problems we have solved include: examining interference issues associated with electrified railways (interference to both railway and non railway systems); looking at interference to medical devices and systems in hospitals; and controlling interference to commercial radio services such as TV, radio and mobile telecommunications. In solving these problems, we apply a variety of techniques including computational electromagnetic modelling (CEM), analytical techniques, measurements and previous experience. Finally, our portfolio of EMC instruments contains a range of specialist EMC test equipment to assist organisations carrying out EMC testing at all levels.
