ELSWICK HALL CARE HOME

The Unit is located close to Newcastle City Centre and has excellent transport links. It has 18 beds in total. The home is well equipped and comfortable. It has two bright, spacious lounge diners with one having access to a large, south facing garden. Having worked with the Northumberland Wildlife Trust, the garden has plants and shrubs to attract the wildlife and there are raised beds with herbs and vegetables so that the clients can get involved in growing their own, as well as providing the sights, sounds and smells of a sensory garden. The garden also has a furnished patio area. All of the bedrooms have en-suite facilities with some having garden views. Clients are encouraged to personalise their rooms, and can choose their own colour scheme to make it feel more homely.

We have a dedicated Activity Co-ordinator who ensures that all clients have something stimulating and enjoyable to look forward to that interests them. This may be individual hobbies or interests but we also make sure there are plenty of group activities as well. A varied and interesting programme of activities includes; bingo, gardening, cooking and other entertainment as well as regular visits to local places of interest and the theatre. We also welcome friends and family to events like our Pie and Pea Suppers. Our staff and clients celebrate special seasonal events, which may include Burns night, St George's Day and Halloween, to contribute to client’s well being and social recovery.
