ECOFAB is a newly developed, complete, prefabricated system of building using strawbale, timber, and other reclaimed materials providing one of the most sustainable construction solutions available.
Ecofab provides a complete design service from initial feasibility through to completion. Whether large-scale commercial development or individual private house, good design starts with effective communication establishing clear need and aspirations. A full structural & civil engineering service is also provided by Cornwall Design Consultants.
Detailed description:
ECOFAB was developed through the working partnership of the Dorset Centre for Rural Skills (DCRS) and ARCO2 Architecture LTD. Both companies have a strong track record in sustainable building. ARCO2 are an award winning RIBA Chartered Practice specialising in sustainable architecture in Cornwall. ARCO2 have developed the Ecofab system from on-site straw bale construction. DCRS provides both training and education in rural skills including, among other disciplines, construction utilising earth and straw.
Manufacturing – following design, production commences offsite allowing choices to be made at an early stage regarding finishes, fixed furniture and fittings. Heating systems are preassembled and supplied ready for fit-out. Self build customers may wish to reserve aspects of first and second fix for self completion.
