The Playground behaviour has greatly improved and our Midday Supervisers feel very happy to come to work!. In addition to theMidday Supervisers feeling brighter, our teachers and staff are impressed with how the children have risen to the challenge of implementing the 5 Golden Rules.

We have also provided an additional incentive to housepints and class merits. The children are given a ticket for "over and above", displays of kindness and cooperation. They put these into a bran tub, once a week the teacher draws a ticket and a child can win a class prize but once a half term they may win a Mystery Prize! All of the tickets are given to me each week in readiness for the whole school draw.

The converse of the prize giving is having your name entered in the Behaviour Book. After being issued with a yellow card, then a red card, the child's name is placed in the book. Three entries requires a meeting with the teacher and myself. A repeated three entries will require parents to attend school to discuss plans for improving behaviour. This is not a procedure that we anticipate using often.

There will be times when parents may be called to school without the procedure being adhered to. These are in the cases of extreme behaviour or one of the following, as the school has a zero tolerance attitude to swearing, vandalism, violence, racism and bullying.

However, this is rare and our school is a warm, friendly and welcoming place, thanks to the behaviour of our children to visitors and each other. We receive many compliments regarding their attitude.
