Our Practice Nurses run clinics to detect and monitor chronic diseases such as asthma, diabetes, coronary heart disease. They also see patients for minor illness; provide stopping smoking help and advice, cervical smears, emergency contraception, sexual health, 4YP, travel immunisation and advice (see below for more info) childhood immunisations, flu and pneumonia vaccinations.

Opening Hours The Practice is open from 8.30 am to 6.30 pm Monday to Friday and 8.30 - 12 noon two Saturdays a month.

Detailed description:

FAMILY PLANNING AND SEXUAL HEALTH: The doctors and practice nurses offer a range of family planning advice during their routine surgeries. A wide range of family planning services, including IUDs and IUS (coils) and implanon (contraceptive implant) insertion and removal, are available. Screening for STIs (including chlamydia ) is also available. All consultations are treated in the strictest confidence.

EMERGENCY CONTRACEPTION: Practice nurses will see registered and non-registered patients for emergency contraception. It is important that you are seen as soon as possible. If a routine appointment is not available please explain why you need to see the nurse, and the receptionists will do their best to arrange an appointment for you.

CERVICAL SMEARS: All eligible women between the ages of 25 and 64 are advised to have a cervical cancer smear test - every 3 years up to age 50 and every 5 years over 50. The national screening programme has a computerised call and recall system, and will send regular invitations to attend. Appointments can be made with our Practice Nurses by contacting reception.
